I have discovered that the language skill of a child depends on the parents.
I can hear myself talking back when Asher speaks to me. He uses adverbs like eventually, otherwise, therefore... big words like excruciating, or expressions like "Hay nako!", "Atik oi", even "Debak" (Korean) All in the right context.
People with children say that Asher is very fluent for his age. I would never know, since I only have one kid. And why compare? Or check milestones
I'm not saying my child is smart like every parents would say so. I am saying that talking loud is important as reading aloud. I talk loud, like yelling loud, like most Filipino mothers.
Also, I have a deep appreciation of words, whatever language they may be of.
